Dental Veneers

Teeth that are badly stained, shaped or crooked may be improved by a veneer placed on the surface of the affected teeth. Patients with gaps between their front teeth or teeth that are chipped or worn, can consider porcelain veneers or Ceramic Laminates.

Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain /ceramic cemented over the front of your teeth(similar to contact lens of an eye) to change their color or shape. Little or no anesthesia is needed. Veneers have a longer life expectancy and colour stability than composite restoration, and highly resist permanent staining from coffee, tea or even cigarette smoking.

Veneers are usually made by a dental lab technician working from a model provided by the dentist. We ourselves have a state of art dental lab in the clinic office premises with highly qualified and artistic technicians. This enables us to make naturally appearing and pleasing veneers.

How It’s Done?

For veneering it’s necessary to remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth to accommodate the shell. Typically veneers entail at least three steps:

During the tooth preparation visit , usually about a half a millimetre of the tooth enamel is removed to allow for the planned thickness of veneer. This may require a local anaesthetic. During the same visit, a mold is taken of the teeth, and sent to the laboratory for the fabrication of the veneers.
